Our first full day in Munich

Today we woke up rather early (7:30ish) and immediately ate a large breakfast at the hostel. Afterward, because of how much we ate, a nap was needed. After the nap began the day, and holy crap did we walk a lot. We took a free walking tour of the city, which turned out being a lot of fun. The tour guide was a lady we had met briefly last night in the Augustiner-Keller Biergarten. It was very informative, and a lot of fun really. Definitely trivia question kinda stuff.

Our first night in München was pretty cool - it went a lot smoother than I expected it to, haha. We ate dinner at a place called Funkstadl, which was quite tasty. I had Cordon Bleu vom Schwein (Schnitzel (fried flattened pork chop) filled with delicious cheese and ham) with fries and a half liter of beer. Considering I had never eaten outside of the US, I asked the waiter what the tipping practices were and he was surprisingly understanding and helpful, which was a relief. After dinner we explored a bit, and then followed that with a round of drinking at the aforementioned Augustiner-Keller. The biergarten was wild! It was a very loud, crowded cellar of the Augustiner brewery (one of Munich's finest) and the beer was excellent. I drank a liter (ein Maß) of their Edelstoff brew, and then a half liter (Halbmaß) of their Dunkel. Both were excellent, and after 1.5L of delicious beer and the .5L from dinner I was feeling quite alright ;D.
So far München is very fun, for sure a place I will be back to.

*they are selling a life size statue of Gordon Freeman under the name "Halo". WTF?! That's like preaching Catholicism and calling it Hinduism. You just don't mess with someone's religion like that.
